PINK LUNCH

This was the first time I've been so close to a grizzly bear – and a mom and two cubs, no less. We were huddled along a river in the Great Bear Rainforest while I was tinkering with my water housing, trying to keep it dry while I changed lenses so I could photograph spawning Pink salmon. 

The next thing we knew, a mother grizz and her cubs were walking up our side of the river. They got to within 20 feet of us before we had to make some noise to let them know we were there. The mother calmly walked her cubs deeper into the river, and they crossed directly in front of us. After they were across the river, I was able to wade out and get some great images. The cubs were just out of the frame to the right watching their mom catch Pinks for lunch.
